Stop relying on motivation
Motivation is a feeling. It shows up after you start, not before. People who look disciplined simply need less of it because they removed the choices.
The system
- Decide the night before. In the morning you only execute.
- Make the bad option hard. Phone in another room, feeds blocked.
- Make the good option easy. Gym bag packed, book on the pillow.
- Keep a visible score. A streak you can see is a streak you do not want to break.
- Never miss twice. One bad day is normal. Two is a new habit.
Start smaller than you think
Ten push-ups, five pages, ten minutes of focus. Do it for 14 days, then grow it. Small and daily beats big and weekly.
Review every week
Sunday, ten minutes: what got done, where you slipped, what changes next week.
Where Make Yourself fits
A plan for the day, a timer on every task, streaks, a daily score and weekly statistics, plus training, money and a journal. Free to start, Pro from $1.99 the first month.
From the founder
