Why you cannot just delete Instagram
Your friends message you there. Your groups are there. Delete it and you miss real life, so you reinstall it a week later.
Block the part, not the app
Make Yourself watches what is on screen. Reels go. Messages, stories from friends and your profile stay. Incognito tabs can be closed too, so the browser is not a back door.
A week without Reels
- Day 1: block Reels.
- Day 2: turn off every Instagram notification except messages.
- Days 3-7: each time you want to scroll, start a 10-minute task instead.
Most people notice after a week that they open Instagram far less, because there is nothing to scroll.
Requirements
Android, from Google Play. Blocking is part of Pro, $1.99 for the first month.
From the founder
I'm Danylo, 17. I used to lose 5-6 hours a day to Shorts, Reels and TikTok. Deleting apps and screen time limits did not work for me; a written plan did. Then I built Make Yourself. Read my story →
